Symantec Study Mischaracterizes Linux Spam Posted: 07 May 2010 09:00 AM PDT The latest MessageLabs Intelligence Report from Symantec Hosted Services is filled with interesting and useful information regarding the current state of malware and e-mail borne threats as well as the trends over time. Of particular interest to me is the assertion in the report that "any given Linux machine is five times more likely to be sending spam than any given Windows machine." |

Two-factor authentication through Windows Server 2008 NPS Posted: 07 May 2010 09:00 AM PDT Increasingly, whether due to regulatory requirements or a basic recognition that static passwords just don't provide adequate security, organizations are implementing some form of strong authentication. Like all new efforts, before you start you want to be reasonably assured that you will succeed. In this tutorial we will document how to add two-factor authentication to various Microsoft remote access solutions through the Windows Server 2008 Network Policy Server. For two-factor authentication, we will be using the WiKID Strong Authentication Server - Enterprise Edition. WiKID is a dual-sourced, software-based two-factor authentication system. While the document is product specific, the process is typically the same no matter the products. |

Working with city government, Nutes has adopted technological innovation to address tough problems, while the city of Atlanta has secured funding to protect its critical infrastructure when it is needed most. |

4 Reasons to Worry about Privacy on Facebook Posted: 07 May 2010 09:00 AM PDT Facebook is opening up new and interesting ways for you to share information, links and other items online with new features like its universal like button and Instant Personalization. But at the same time, Facebook's tendency to make more and more of your previously private information public continues to be a troubling habit of the popular social network. Concerns over Facebook's treatment of user privacy recently led the Electronic Privacy Information Center and 14 other consumer advocacy groups to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission over Facebook's stance on privacy. |
